Koren Shadmi is an Israeli comics author and illustrator grown up in the workshop of Uri Fink’s – a real comics star in Israel. He made his debùt when he was just 17 years old and graduated at the School of Visual Arts di New York.
Two of his anthologies have been published in Italy: In carne e ossa (2008) and Anatomia del desiderio (2009) by Double Shot. Both of them focus on the dissociation of mind and body, on the emotions that accompany interpersonal relationships, and on how narration turns to a surreal dimension to face a world made up of unsaid things and fine nuances. Shadmi publishes regularly for various American magazines as the “New York Times”, “Village Voice”, “Billboard Magazine”, “Spin” and “Plenty Magazine”.
He has been awarded with the Gran Guinigi prize for the Best short story at Lucca Comics in 2008.
The exhibition, held by Galleria PivArte in collaboration with Double Shot, is going to present a selection of his illustrations and comics pages.
