Sara Cimarosti, also known as Violetta Testacalda, was born in Mantua in 1973.
She attended the ISIA (Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche) in Urbino, and lives now in Bologna where she works as graphic artist and illustrator.
For years she has been engaged creating softies, illustrations and sculpture based on the animal world.
“SoftZOOne” is the name of her project exhibited within the “Atelier dei Pesci Pneumatici” (Pneumatic Fishes Atelier), a little space dedicated to hand-made texile design.
A little fabric bestiary, sewed and stuffed animals, collage-illustration created with mixed technique, wooden and paper sculptures, stop-motion animations, but also an overview on the making of a puppet, from the drawing to the sewing, from the design to the creation.
