Giacomo Monti is an author that in a few years has succeeded in imposing himself on the contemporary scene through a precise narrative imaginary and surgically precise descriptive sense. Through the stylistic use of the short story he narrates the stories of common people, provincial youth, bartenders, waiters, farmers, prostitutes, observed in any particular “fragment“ of their existence. Monti is one of the founders of Canicola, a Bologna publishing house whose work has acquired national and international recognition for their activity in the narrative and graphic fields. Since 2004 he has published drawings and comics, principally with “Canicola“, as well as in other publications such as “Hamelin“, “Lo straniero“, “Glömp“ (Finland), “Strapazin“ (Switzerland), “Graffiti“ (Brazil) and some short stories for the weekly “Internazionale“.
In the occasion of Bilbolbul the cultural association Canicola will publish “Nessuno mi farà del male“, a volume that will collect most of the stories published by Monti since 2005 as well as some brand new comics and pictures.
