Liniers, pseudonym of Riccardo Siri, is considered the superstar of Argentinean humoristic comics. He started publishing Macanudo (“fantastic“ in Argentinean slang) in 2002 for the argentinean newspaper “La Nación“. The strip has made him famous and it is published weekly in the Italian magazine “Internazionale“, a collection of the strip has also been published in Italian by Double Shot. Liniers recovers innocence in developing every possible point of view in the observation of world, people, and things. Frequently it is a surreal glance, destabilizing and out of ordinary. His characters do not always manage to work things out, at most there are those moments of small heroism that emerge in the midst of a bitter world, a la Woody Allen. Thus in his frames there are no hilarious gags, just tiny lighting bolts of irony on feelings and daily life.
During Bilbolbul Liniers will be the protagonist of an artists residence at the Aemilia Hotel, exhibiting both originals from Macanudo and works realized for the festival.
