David  B. is considered one of the most important storytellers of the  international comics world. His works have contributed to give  relevance to autobiographical vein in contemporary comics,  investigating the relation between individual and history, reality  and fiction.  
                   
                  L'ascension  du haut mal,  published in France in six volumes from 1996 to 2003, is considered  one of the absolute masterpieces of graphic  novel.  At the centre of this series is the profound reflection on pain and  illness, and generally on childhood and adolescence. Some of his  works: the esoteric novel Les  incidents de la nuit,  the story about the Fiume episode in the Par  les chemins noir series,  the dream journey of Complotti notturni. 
                  David B.'s work characterizes itself  for a very particular and refined poetics, based on the fascination  of storytelling and in a big culture as a reader. 
                   
                  The stories, with elements taken by  personal memories, dreams, fantasy narrations, history and its  protagonists, feuilleton traditions, are always the most important  part of his work. 
                   
                  Many  are  the prizes and awards won by David B., in Europe and worldwide,  amongst which the prize for Best Book for L'ascension  du haut mal at the Angoulême Festival and the one for Best Author at the Ignatz  Awards. David B. is one of the founder members of L’Association,  one of the most important European independent comics publishing  houses.
