Pasquale Todisco, also known as Squaz, was born in Taranto in 1970, and lives in Milan.
After his first publications for “Centro fumetto Andrea Pazienza” and fort “AlterVox” group, he starts working for national magazines as “Rolloingstone”, “XL di Repubblica” and “Internazionale”.
His style evolves from an underground base to gain great skills in synthesis. His imaginary is fostered by a strong expressive charge, playfully violent, allowing him to achieve big impact and visibility with his works.
In the last years he published a lot of different books, as “Ascension”, “25 disegni”, “Entertainment!”, “Belli dentro”, “Pandemonio” (written by Gianluca Morozzi), and the recent “Minus Habens” (Grrržetic, 2009), in which he mixes atmospheres and printing and drawing techniques.
The exhibition, held in Libreria Irnerio, is going to show original pages of artwork from the books “Pandemonio” and “Minus Habens”, plus a section about illustrations published in magazines.
Also showing some pages from “Dimmi la verità”, his last work, born as an exhibition and become more a long stream of consciousness about the concepts of truth and forgery than a simple comic book.
A funny but also thoughtful work, frequently vitriolic and sarcastic, looking for new spheres for the comic language, published by Grrržetic Editrice and MioMao Gallery in Perugia, coming out in occasion of Bilbolbul festival.
