The passage from childhood to adulthood has enormous social, psychological and cultural implications. Magnhild Winsnes cleverly tells us about this in her graphic novel Shhh!, from point of view of a group of girls who are about to enter adolescence. What does it mean to become a woman? How can puberty be explained without stereotypes?

Magnhild Winsnes is a Norwegian illustrator and comics artist. Her debut graphic novel is Hysj! (Aschelog, 2017).
Federica Lucchesini is a teacher and scholar. She writes about education and sociology for the Italian magazine “Gli Asini”.
