One of the threads that BilBOlbul 2017 tries to chase is a further definition of a relationship and a dialogue between the language of Comics (and the language of drawing more in general) and the one of music and sounds, showing, in particular, a specific attention for improvisation and performance. In these latter actions drawing and music are combined in the same gesture and in the same subtle balance between instinct and project. This will be made clear by the performance of Stefano Ricci, who will be performing together with Pasquale Mirra at the vibraphone and percussions in a concert at San Leonardo Theatre, in a public meeting and in a workshop pointed towards students and young artists; and together with Giacomo Piermatti at the double bass and Vincenzo Core at the live electronics during the inauguration of the personal exhibition Più Giù at Squadro Galleria Stamperia d’Arte.

performance

Monday, November 13th h 8,30pm | Teatro San Leonardo | Stefano Ricci, Pasquale Mirra | Due di noi

Stefano Ricci e Pasquale Mirra will be performing in a show of music and drawing that will be based on improvisation and dialogue between these two languages, which will be linked in one flow. This will be produced by the reciprocal influence of gestures and presence.

It will be possible meeting the artists who will be discussing about their collaboration and the experiment of the workshop in a successive meeting at Sala Borsa, on Saturday, November 25th, h 2,30pm.

Workshop

Sunday, November 19th | Unipol Auditorium | Stefano Ricci, Pasquale Mirra, the students of Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna, Conservatorio Giovanni Battista Martini, Liceo Musicale Lucio Dalla, Liceo Artistico Arcangeli

In order to blend both the creation of artistic productions and the formative aims pointed towards a general public and young people, it has been possible to create a particular project which is made of a five days workshop and a final performance open to audiance, in collaboration with Bologna Jazz Festival. Two groups will be working both together and separately on music improvisation and graphics, inside the spaces of the building of Centro Didattico delle Art of Liceo Arcangeli. A group will be composed by twelve students of Conservatorio Giovanni Battista Martini and Liceo Musicale Lucio Dalla, directed by the vibraphonist Pasquale Mirra, and the other one will be made of twelve students of Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna and Liceo Artistico Arcangeli, led by Stefano Ricci. They will work to devise an everyday dialogue between these two art languages, so to focus on their potentialities and their dynamics. During the final performance, which will be possible thanks to the support of CUBO Centro Unipol Bologna, all the drawings will be projected on a screen, so to make anyone able to follow live their creation. The realisation of the drawings will be inspired by the action of the musicians, who will be playing likewise in connection with the drawings and their sentences.
