The Emperor's New Clothes

29th November - 22nd December | CorrainiMAMbo artbookshopOpening and talk 30th November h 6 pm

The Emperor is naked, but he does not lack in elegance! In his adaptation of The Emperor’s New Clothes, illustrator Steven Guarnaccia has hidden many details as tributes to the great protagonists of Fashion history, as well as references to the charm of the dandies: men’s shoes by historic English brands, hats worn by unforgettable crooners and boots like those worn by Elton John during his glittering career. Everything is drawn with sharp lines and colorful sketches and Guarnaccia’s unmistakable, vintage style, bringing a touch of contemporaneity to Hans Christian Andersen’s children story, written in 1837.
