The recently completed fourteenth edition of the “Coop for Words” competition, gave many young arists the chance to measure themselves with the composition of poems, short stories, ‘Bastard recipes’, comics and hip-hop lyrics, and to submit their works to a jury of experts from the world of writing, music and culture.
For the comics section was required to create two tables translating news (about politic, economy or culture) into a comic. The approach could be purely informational or openly personal and fictional, providing a reference to an event or to a real person.
The winner of this section, selected by a jury composed of Coop, Hamelin Associazion Culturale and Graphic News, was Gianluca Ascione, a twenty-two student of the course of Comic and Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. The exhibition will display the winning tables and a selection of his work.
