“Coop for words – Scrivere giovane” is a literary prize promoted by Coop Adriatica and Librerie Coop and it is a standing showcase for under 35 young authors, thanks to the www.coopforwords.it website. Initially, the contest was articulated in three sections – short stories, poetry and blog – but now there is a special section dedicated to comics. The young authors can send their works just for the publication on the website or they can participate to the literary prize “Coop for words”, which takes place every year with the help of a prestigious jury. About the comic section of the contest, the partecipants had to present a free theme story in two tables. The jury identified 43 winners among 400 works sent to 2008 edition of “Coop for words”. The comics section winner was Fabio Sera, a young artist born in 1983 in Brescia, and now resident in Bologna. A selection of his works is being showed in an exhibition titled “La memoria dei pesci rossi”, taking place in Libreria Coop Ambasciatori, a new bookshop located in the center of Bologna.
