Marijpol was born in 1982 in Berlin. She lives and works in Hamburg. After attending the visual communication class at Art School until 2006, she’s now attending the Illustration class at Applied Arts University, under the supervision of Stefano Ricci and Anke Feuchtenberger.
In the last years she has been taking part to many collective exhibitions with her classmates. She won an award at the last edition of Lucerna Comic Festival.
Her work, influenced by the style of authors like Anke Feuchtenberger and Francesca Ghermandi, is starting to be noticed in the world of alternative and indipendent comics. Her stories are published by magazines as “Panik Elektro” and “Orange”, and by the webzine Electrocomics.com.
The exhibition, taking place at RAM Hotel gallery, arranged with the collaboration of Goethe Institute of Bologna, is a chance to take a look at the work of an artist never seen in Italy before. Moreover, RAM Hotel is going to publish a catalogue that collects a selection of drawings and illustration expressly created for the exhibition.
