The Cultural Association and independent publisher Canicola continues its mission of bringing the most exciting new comics and illustrations from Europe and around the world to Italy. This time Canicola has focused on the new German school of artists. During the days of the festival, the last issue of the magazine will be available and this time consists in a selection of young, unpublished artists, who blend their comics with influences from illustration, graphic design, art and fashion : Aisha Franz, Jul Gordon, Sophia Martineck, Paul Paetzel, Josephin Ritschel, Maria Sulymenko, Anne Vagt.
The Canicola exhibition will be articulated in two different sites.
Museo della Musica will propose the works of seven authors published on the magazine, offering the possibility of seeing their work in direct relation to artists of the previous generation, such as Anke Feuchtenberger, Markus Huber, Henning Wagenbreth, Martin Tom Dieck, Atak and Volker Pfüller, showing at Squadro Galleria Stamperia d’Arte.
The new german school confronts itself with the past in a vintage dimension which mixes salvaged materials and printing techniques, and at the same time, is well aware of the new opportunities brought by technology and communication, succeeding in bringing in its stories a breeze of fresh air, irony and positivism.
The 21 November (Friday) at h 20.30 will also be inaugurated porta dell’Atelier Sì painted, for the occasion, by Anne Vagt.
