At the festival

Flashfumetto, the City of Bologna’s doorway into the world of comics, is back with its competition for young artists.  After the success of past editions, The Political Progects for Young People by the City of Bologna, in collaboration with Hamelin and Yoda, invite young creative people to participate in the context Small Power and Great Responsibility, for young comic artists aged 35 and under and resident in Italy.

To participate you must follow this theme:  what would happen if we possessed a super power tha served no purpose?  Like always knowing the exact time without looking?  Magically untying all knots?  Turning still water to sparkling

Could we use it for some good?  Or would it be a curse, a bit stupid and silly?  Would we feel a sense of vocation (almost) like a hero? Or would we use our power for evil?

The task is to come up with the most original and seemingly most useless “power” possibile and use it in a story which the protagonist deals with this situation.  You can tell how the power was acquired, or have the power already present from the beginning.  What is important is to reflect on how and to what degree this circumstance influences real life and alters our daily existence.

Like last year the contest has two sections, Flashfummetto and Yoda.  The winners from each will be on display during BilBOlbul and published in a catalogue.
