AT FESTIVAL
“Platypus L’Eclettico” is a cultural “a-periodical” full of voices, sounds, images and words from extremely diverse worlds. The idea was born out of a need to recuperate the term “eclectic” to express the infinite possibilities of creativity and art it can contain. Those who are eclectic do not operate within a specific framework but explore the very limits in which they work. The otherworld of poetry implies this eclecticism, it responds to this spirit of time, like every avant-garde, in which technology makes everything faster and more accessible.
Across various interviews and interpretations in contemporary eclectic culture (Schwartz, Luttazzi), pataphysic points of view (Tania Lorandi, Sandro Omassi), author’s illustrations (Marco Corona, Duccio Boscoli), supercontemporary art (Maurizio Cattelan), glances towards the past (Danil Charms, Alfred Jerry), musical postcards (Anna Raimondo) and imaginary advertisements for soap that will wash away your sins (
sezione Quisquilie/ or minor details), the one thing “Platypus L’Eclettico” doesn’t do is reduce or cut short human creativity and talent.
Mr. Platypus is the protagonist and icon of ecletticism, with his duckbill in his stomach he represents the difficulties of classifying and also the philosophical implications of doing so. The editors of “Platypus L’Eclettico” are composed of journalists, philosophers, writers, architects, artists, musicians, designers and professionals in the field of communications. All of these people, across different disciplines, put forward our varied outlooks and our genuinely “eclectic” style.
