AT FESTIVAL
Artist and illustrator Luca Schenardi’s language is eclectic and stratified, in his works painting, graphic and photography are combined together to create disorienting universes. Luca Schenardi’s imaginative world is powerful; his images have an unquestionably strong visual impact. An alternation of primeval landscapes and futuristic environments occupied by human bodies and faces often similar to statues or puppets. Schenardi’s work seems to tell us about the deep perturbation hiding behind the images of our every-day life, in this sense the contrast between nature and culture offers itself as a perfect representative metaphor. At RAM Hotel Gallery, Bilbolbul presents the exhibition Symptom of the universe, showing for the first time in Italy the Swiss author’s works. Schenardi was also guest in 2009 at Lucerna International Comic Festival, it was in fact in that occasion that his book D.I.J.D.S.D. (Das ist ja das Schöne daran) – titled with a word play inspired by a mediocre German TV show – was published.
In his works at RAM Gallery, the author reveals the mechanism behind the world that surrounds him, producing a curious outcome and showing normality in something absurd and grotesque.
